Yes folks, we’re going to Methven in 2020 😊

Labour Weekend 2020 dates are: Fri 23, Sat 24, Sun 25 & Mon 26 of October. 

The main venue for our functions in Methven at MIM 2020 to be held over Labour Weekend 2020 is at the Methven Resort Hotel.

All 47 rooms have been held for us.

Hi all,

Friday Evening:
Nothing official is organised however there will no doubt be a get together at the Methven Resort Hotel. Collection of Registration packs will be available. There will be a bar & food will be available.
 
Saturday:
Buffet breakfast available for around $25. Games on the lawn will be provided

Rodeo tbc.

Run to Geraldine, for those interested, where M.i.t.S started from way back in 2008 😊
 
Saturday Evening:
Meet & Greet @ the Methven Resort Hotel. Collection of Registration packs will be available. There will be a bar & Buffet meals will be available.

Sunday:
Scavenger Hunt & Show ‘n’ Shine. Prepaid lunch collection from 8am.

Sunday Evening:
Prepaid dinner/buffet & prize giving.

Prize Giving will cover the following:
•   Hard Luck
•   Furthest travelled
•   Best Dressed Person
•   Best Dressed Group
•   Scavenger Hunt Prize
•   Show and Shine Pick

Hi all,

Ok, we’ve been a bit slack but with all that’s going on who can blame us. Will we be through Covid-19 by MIM time or will we still be operating under a host of restrictions ? Who knows but for now we are moving on “as if” everything is going to be OK. So by the end of March expect to see the Registration & Shirt info, and order forms in your inbox.

In the meantime, we’re happy to announce that Zig Zag Auto Bodies will be the sponsor of the screen stickers & rego cards for MIM. Thank you Carl.

And here’s the MIM shirt design, unique as always.

29-03-20 MoPars in Methven 2020 Update

Hi all,

We do sincerely hope that you, your families and friends are both safe and well at this time of great uncertainty both here in our country and around the world. Please take care.

OK, Carla, her support team and myself have discussed MIM and as mentioned in last weeks update we are moving on “as if” everything is going to be OK but with a couple of changes and a back up plan. We will make a final call in early August as to MIM going ahead or not.

Registration info & order forms will flow out to you over the next couple of days but without payment instructions. Payment instructions will go out in August once the decision is made. Please do not pay before then. 

The back up plan. We’ve had a couple of people make mention of hosting a M.i.t.S weekend in 2021 but at this point in time nobody has committed therefore we are listing 2021 as the back up year for MIM. 2021 of course will become available again should MIM happen this year.

We’ve talked with Methven Resort Hotel to pencil us in for 2021 just in case. i.e. If you’ve booked accommodation at Methven Resort Hotel for 2020, this is also penciled in for 2021.

Hi all,

Due to the unfortunate circumstances that Covid-19 has created for many, far & wide, we are needing at this time to inform you all of the closure in two days’ time of the Methven Resort Hotel which was not only our main venue for MIM but also where a large number of us were staying.

We will be working through the options over the next week or so, so please bear with us as we do this and wait to hear from us with any further detail.

Hi all,

We are still working on things to try & ensure that this years gathering still happens in Methven following the unfortunate closure of the Methven Resort Hotel which was not only our main venue for MIM but also where a large number of us were staying.

Some of the ducks are lining up quite nicely so please bear with us as we do this and wait to hear from us with further detail.

BUT for now we need to ask that everyone holds off registering & ordering meals for MIM as there’s a very high probability that there could be changes to the meals etc. and new forms to be sent out.

Have caught up on all the Registrations, Shirt & Hat orders. Thank you to all those that took the time to make sure their forms were filled out correctly and that everything added up to what it should 😊 And a big GRRRR to all those that didn’t, and there was a few ☹ Your forms have been returned to you and will keep getting returned until you get it right.
 
 With:
69 sleeps until MIM officially kicks off - 23 October.
13 days for ordering & paying for shirts – 28 August
41 days until the close off for ordering & paying for meals - 25 September.
48 days until registrations close completely - 02 October.
We have: 35 cars & 86 people registered as attending 😊
 
Registrations are from: Amberley, Ashburton, Christchurch, Dunedin, Gore, Invercargill, Leeston, Levin, Mapua, Methven, Mosgiel, Nelson, North Auckland, Oamaru, Rakaia, Rangiora, Reefton, Rolleston, Sheffield, Taihape, Timaru, Tuahiwi, West Auckland, & 1 Not Sure
Cars range from a 1961 Dodge Pioneer right the way through to a 2015 Dodge Challenger
